MARTIN PARR AT JEU DE PAUME, GLOBAL WARNING
The Parisian institution Jeu de Paume presents Martin Parr. Global Warning, a major retrospective dedicated to British photographer Martin Parr.
Located in the heart of Paris at 1 place de la Concorde in the 1st arrondissement, the exhibition revisits more than fifty years of work, from his early explorations to his most recent series.
Through a selection of around 180 works, the show offers a sharp and often ironic perspective on the excesses of modern society, capturing the paradoxes of contemporary lifestyles through a distinctive visual language.
On view until May 24 2026, Global Warning highlights the recurring themes that define Parr’s career, from consumer culture and mass tourism to the absurdities of everyday life and evolving social landscapes.
The photographs reveal a richly detailed and vividly colored universe, where humor and lucidity coexist.
The exhibition design emphasizes the evolution of his gaze, creating a narrative journey that bridges the intimate and the global in a reading that feels both critical and poetic.
Beyond a retrospective tribute to one of the leading figures in documentary photography, the exhibition underscores Parr’s lasting influence on contemporary visual culture.
By occupying the spaces of Jeu de Paume, Global Warning invites visitors to reflect on habits, desires and excesses, turning each image into a mirror of our time.
Between satire and tenderness, visual humor and social observation, the exhibition resonates as a vibrant portrait of the world we inhabit.
