LOUIS VUITTON UNVEILS “THE LOUIS” IN SHANGHAI

A vision of luxury lands in Shanghai as Louis Vuitton unveils “The Louis,” an extraordinary pop-up designed like a 30-meter-high, 114-meter-long cruise ship, moored at the HKRI Taikoo Hui mall on Nanjing West Road. Its metallic Monogram-clad exterior evokes both the house’s travel heritage and Shanghai’s port identity. Spanning 1,600 m² over three levels, this immersive experience is open to the public from June 18 to July 21, 2025.

Inside, the journey moves between retail, culture, and gastronomy. The first two floors host Visionary Journeys, a 1,200 m² exhibition co-designed with OMA (Shohei Shigematsu), showcasing Louis Vuitton’s craftsmanship across trunks, perfumes, books, sports archives, and a live workshop. On the third level, Le Café Louis Vuitton, led by Leonardo Zambrino and Zoe Zhou, offers an East-West fusion menu featuring Monogram dumplings, sea bream carpaccio, and signature desserts.

More than a store, this pop-up reflects the immersive strategy adopted by luxury brands in China, where shopping is as much about experience as it is about purchase. Free and accessible by WeChat reservation, “The Louis” places China at the heart of retail innovation, proving that storytelling and emotion can reignite customer engagement, even during economic slowdowns.
