London at the forefront of design: Clerkenwell Design Week returns with spectacular installations
Clerkenwell Design Week 2025 returns to London with an exceptional program: new exhibition venues, unique art installations, and more than 350 international brands to discover.

Starting today and for three days, London becomes the nerve center of design with the most ambitious edition of Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW). This flagship event for design professionals and enthusiasts brings together thousands of visitors around innovation and creativity. For this 14th edition, the event expands with three new exhibition venues, while showcasing spectacular art installations, such as a work by the famous Alex Chinneck.
New iconic venues for an ever-growing event
The 2025 edition of Clerkenwell Design Week marks a turning point with the addition of three new exhibition venues in historic London buildings. Among them, the Charterhouse and its Charterhouse Square host a spectacular installation by British artist Alex Chinneck. The site, over 600 years old, showcases contemporary design works, particularly in the fields of furniture, decorative lighting, and luxury finishes.
Another exceptional venue is Studio Smithfield, a listed building of 27,000 square feet above the famous Smithfield Market. This new creative space hosts interior design brands, including giants like Houzz Pro and Bandalux.
Finally, St Bartholomew the Great, London's oldest medieval church, serves as a sumptuous setting for the Church of Design section, where brands such as Roche Bobois showcase their creations in a place of incomparable architectural beauty.
Alex Chinneck: a must-see installation
One of the highlights of Clerkenwell Design Week 2025 is undoubtedly the installation by Alex Chinneck, the British artist known for his perplexing sculptures and architectural illusions. For this edition, he unveils a new work at Charterhouse Square, an interactive sculpture using recycled metal, recovered from the demolition of another London building. His work often blends humor and the impossible, and this new installation is no exception.
More than 350 international brands
With over 350 international design brands present, the 2025 edition promises to highlight the latest trends in furniture, lighting, textiles, and design products. Renowned companies such as String, Bolzan, Kasthall, and Ercol will exhibit their latest creations. The event also emphasizes innovation with special installations, product demonstrations, and conferences with world-renowned designers.
Fringe, workshops, and culinary experiences
Alongside major exhibitions, the Clerkenwell Design Week Fringe offers creative workshops, inviting visitors to immerse themselves interactively in the world of design. Additionally, participants can enjoy exclusive offers from partner restaurants and bars, creating a complete and immersive experience.
An accessible and interactive event
This year, CDW launches an interactive map, making it easier to navigate between the event's various sites. Thanks to geolocation technology, visitors can explore the many installations, events, and brands while easily moving between the different venues.
