WHITNEY BIENNIAL 2026 IN NEW YORK

The Whitney Biennial 2026, a major exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, opened on March 8, 2026 and will run until August 23, 2026.
This is the 82nd edition of this contemporary art biennial, the oldest and most important review of American art organized by the museum.
It is co-organized by Marcela Guerrero and Drew Sawyer, the curators responsible for selecting the works presented.

For this edition, 56 artists, duos, and collectives from 25 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, and other territories were invited to present their work, with no imposed theme but with a focus on the most current artistic expressions.
The represented artists include a generational and geographical diversity, from established creators to emerging voices, reflecting a broad panorama of contemporary art.

The biennial showcases a wide variety of works ranging from sculptures and installations to interactive pieces and digital media, exploring themes such as human conditions, relationships with nature, identity, and collective memory.
The exhibition also includes specific commissions like Kelly Akashi’s Hyundai Terrace Commission, a sculptural installation designed for the space.
