THE ANTWERP SIX AT MOMU A MUST SEE RETROSPECTIVE

The MoMu Fashion Museum Antwerp presents a major exhibition dedicated to the Antwerp Six, the group of Belgian designers who reshaped European fashion from the 1980s onward.
Held in Antwerp from 28 March 2026 to 17 January 2027, the exhibition marks the 40th anniversary of their international breakthrough.
It is the first time a retrospective of this scale brings together original garments, archives, sketches and key documents to fully explore their collective impact.

The exhibition highlights the individual paths of Walter Van Beirendonck, Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, Dirk Bikkembergs, Dirk Van Saene and Marina Yee.
While their aesthetic approaches differ, they collectively propelled Antwerp onto the global fashion map.
Through historical silhouettes and thematic displays, the exhibition traces how these designers challenged conventions and introduced new ways of thinking about clothing, form, materials and identity.

Rather than offering a static retrospective, the MoMu proposes a broader reflection on the lasting legacy of these six figures.
Installations, interviews and visual narratives help explain why the Antwerp Six continue to influence contemporary designers today.
This exhibition also reaffirms Antwerp’s role as a creative crossroads capable of generating avant garde movements that continue to reshape the language of fashion.
