STONE ISLAND EXPANDS WITH A FLAGSHIP STORE IN HANGZHOU

Stone Island has just opened its new flagship store in Hangzhou, located in the In77 Hangzhou Hubin Yintai shopping center. Covering over 370 m² across three floors, the store follows the brand’s global retail concept developed in collaboration with OMA/AMO studios.

The ground and first floors showcase the full range of Stone Island collections, including Ghost, Marina, and Stellina lines. Innovative design elements are integrated throughout the space: a ceiling-crossing lighting system by Tim Hooijmans, anodized aluminum tables by Johan Viladrich, a long Supersedia steel bench by Markus Toll, and a custom glass display by Phil Procter presenting archival pieces.

The store also reflects Stone Island’s commitment to material experimentation and sustainability. Walls are clad in charred, sanded, and painted cork, creating interesting textures while helping control humidity. Fitting rooms feature perforated metallic walls, enhancing the immersive sensory experience. This opening reinforces Stone Island’s high-end retail ambition in China.
