RALPH LAUREN X NAIOMI GLASSES

Naiomi Glasses becomes Ralph Lauren's very first artist-in-residence. Nearly all of the 32 pieces in the collection incorporate elements from the artist's original weavings.

In an authentic and profound collaboration, Ralph Lauren unveiled the first pieces of a capsule collection born of the recent artistic collaboration in residence initiated by the house. The collection is the creative brainchild of renowned weaver and fabric designer Naiomi Glasses, a seventh-generation member of the Diné people.

From her home on the Navajo Nation, in the heart of the Rock Point Chapter community, the designer collaborated with Ralph Lauren's creative teams to incorporate Navajo motifs. These motifs, already featured in her one-of-a-kind rugs, come to life in virgin wool turtleneck sweaters, tailored cardigans and ranch coats, giving birth to the Polo Ralph Lauren x Naiomi Glasses collection.

"Each piece has its own story and represents the different stages of my creation over the years," shares the designer, gradually realizing that her fabrics harmonize perfectly with the house's iconic cuts.

"I hope the Diné people will feel represented through this collection," she says. I really wanted to celebrate the beauty of our Diné lifestyle, and our culture. But this is just a pilot. I can't wait to see what future projects are born, and what doors will open for young native designers."
