MICROTEX HIGH-TECH COTTON
The Becagli family company was founded after the war and developed over the years concentrating its production both in traditional textiles, with quality fabrics for clothing, and in high-tech sectors with the processing of carbon fibers, structural composites and aesthetic.
In 2015, Lorenzo Becagli with an high specialized technical and stylist staff, decided to unify under the name of Be-Mood two historical labels: Microtex and Smart Yard. It was in order to continue his family tradition in the steady research of innovation and development of technical textiles and fashion.
Be Mood, very involved in research for ecology, is committed to buying only more sustainable cotton and is certified by three different labels.
Cotton is a very important material for the company, it is responsible for the use of 24% of the insecticides and 11% of the pesticides used globally, with damages both on the growers and on the enlarged neighboring communities, but thanks to this initiative it is possible to reduce up to the total elimination of all harmful chemicals.
This approach saves 90% of water, improves the quality of the soil, the working and economic conditions of the farming communities.
Microtex collection is the result of a careful and meticulous research of new textiles, finished fabrics aspects and forefront finishing processes.
Its major strenght is the long cotton tradition and the combined use of cotton, mixed cotton and synthetics. It is the perfect and versatile base for the main product of the collection: piece dyed for Trench, outdoor and outerwear.
