The history of Maglificio Alto Milanese began in 1970 when Luigi Grampa founded a company specializing in the production of jersey, interlock and fleece. In the 90s, a big shift took place, at that time in addition to traditional products, they introduced new collections for the most varied applications ranging from lamination, coating, medical, and even footwear. Today their production is divided into six Collections: Hitext, Industry, Sport, Fashion, Lingerie and Green. The Hitext collection designates the range of products developed for application in specific sectors (work clothing, fire-resistant clothing, etc.) and endowed with intrinsic properties aimed at protecting the user from the risks associated with the sector of use and guaranteeing his safety.
MAM becomes one of the largest producers of aramid knitwear in Europe. This technology appeared in the 1960s. Chemically, it is thermoplastic polymers. Aramid fiber is used in particular in the production of Kevlar®. This technology is used in the production of firefighter uniforms and bulletproof vests.
