THE EXHIBITION “NIGO: FROM JAPAN WITH LOVE”

The exhibition Nigo: From Japan With Love is currently on view at the MOT Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo and runs until May 24, 2026.
It presents a structured overview of Nigo’s career, the Japanese designer behind A Bathing Ape and Human Made, whose work has had a lasting impact on the relationship between fashion, music, and visual culture since the 1990s.

The exhibition brings together garments, archival materials, objects, and pieces from his various collaborations.
It highlights key projects, from BAPE to his more recent initiatives, as well as his work in creative direction.
The presentation reflects a practice based on reinterpretation, combining American cultural references, Japanese production, and global distribution.

The layout follows a clear progression, allowing visitors to identify the main phases of his work.
It also highlights his role in shaping contemporary streetwear, particularly through the use of collaborations, limited editions, and branding.
The exhibition provides context for how these methods have become widely adopted across the fashion industry.
