MARIE ANTOINETTE’S STYLE EXHIBITED IN LONDON
The Victoria and Albert Museum in London is preparing a major exhibition entitled Marie Antoinette Style, on view from September 20, 2025, to March 22, 2026. More than 250 pieces will be presented, including silk shoes worn by the queen, precious jewelry, fragments of her court gowns, and even a letter written before her death.
The exhibition traces the evolution of Marie Antoinette’s style, from her arrival at the French court to her lasting legacy in contemporary fashion. It highlights her enduring influence, drawing parallels between her daring choices and the creations of Dior, Chanel, Vivienne Westwood, and Moschino. Costumes from Sofia Coppola’s film will also be on display, bridging cinema and history.
Designed as an immersive experience, the exhibition combines theatrical scenography, rare objects, and sensory installations. It offers visitors a dive into the refined, extravagant, and sometimes controversial universe of Marie Antoinette, while questioning the modernity and relevance of her style.
