THE GREAT PISSARRO RETROSPECTIVE IN DENVER

The exhibition The Honest Eye Camille Pissarro at Denver Art Museum runs from 26 October 2025 to 8 February 2026 and offers a major reappraisal of one of the pioneers of Impressionism.
More than eighty works from public and private collections trace the richness of Pissarro’s career and reveal how his vision deeply shaped the Impressionist movement.

The exhibition explores the way Pissarro observed everyday life in order to reveal its poetry.
Rural landscapes, urban scenes, market moments and familiar portraits show his constant fascination with light, its variations and its atmospheric effects.
His direct and sincere approach highlights the dignity of simple gestures and the beauty of ordinary life, which he transformed into painting with profound humanity.

The exhibition also underlines Pissarro’s essential role in the history of modern art.
It shows how his spirit of collaboration, his artistic commitment and his openness to other painters helped shape Impressionism.
In Denver his work appears as a meditation on reality, an invitation to look attentively at the world and a powerful demonstration of the emotional force of painting.
