Iris van Herpen Exhibits in Singapore, at the ArtScience Museum

A unique fusion of fashion, art, and science. From March 15 to August 10, 2025, Singapore's ArtScience Museum presents Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses, her first solo show in Asia. Aligned with the thematic season
Mind and Body, the exhibition unveils over 140 creations (dresses, accessories, and material samples) in dialogue with natural specimens (corals, fossils, skeletons), contemporary artworks, and sound installations by Salvador Breed.

A thematic immersion across eleven zones. From early environments evoking water (Water and Dreams and “Sensory Sea Life,” featuring the Hydrozoa dress worn by Lady Gaga) to more abstract themes such as Skeletal Embodiment, Synaesthesia, or Cosmic Bloom, the exhibition offers a visual and tactile journey through the microscopic and the cosmic, the natural and the technological. The Alchemic Atelier zone introduces visitors to “craftolution” — a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and innovations like laser cutting, molded silicone, and kinetic textures.

A manifesto for the fashion of tomorrow. Iris van Herpen pushes the boundaries of couture: collaborating with scientists, engineers, architects, and using technologies such as 3D printing, biomaterials, and recycled marine plastic. This retrospective, co-produced with the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, celebrates the designer's multidisciplinary imagination and raises the question of fashion’s future: sustainable, immersive, and deeply connected to nature and science. This exhibition is for both fashion enthusiasts and curious minds seeking emotion and wonder.
