April 03 – From Promostyl
A feast for the eyes!
A pattern that makes us forget the cold and the rain is the flower pattern! Roses, sunflowers or daisies… Flowers are making a comeback on our clothes!
As you’ve no doubt noticed on some of the catwalks, designers have not overlooked this motif. It’s mostly found on dresses. Balenciaga, for example, opted for a full, colorful pattern on a long dress, a boho-chic look that advocates simplicity and freshness.
Alexander McQueen, on the other hand, opts for a long white dress in which our attention is drawn to the large red rose in the center of the dress.
And we’ve had confirmation from the Zimmermann sisters that the flower pattern will be one of this year’s hottest trends!
This motif should be chosen with care. Depending on the flower, some may make the outfit look older, others younger. So it’s important to find the right balance. It’s a wise choice, and one to be carefully considered when putting together an outfit!
All these flowers plunge us into the world of “cottagecore”! But what’s that?
BALENCIAGA
This term comes from English and is associated with the lifestyle found in the countryside, more specifically in small country houses and in nature. For a more detailed description, we find flower gardens, lush green landscapes, vintage and antique interiors, and when it comes to clothing, comfort and simplicity are the order of the day!
The “cottagecore” creates this escape and journey between modern life, often linked to stress and noise, and rural life, linked to tranquility and simplicity.
In our women’s spring-summer 2024 book, you’ll find elements linked to nature, a soft, warm visual aesthetic that retains that comfortable, practical feel.
Flowers are ready to make their presence felt in your wardrobes this summer!
