DAVID BAILEY’S CHANGING FASHION

From June 28 to September 14, 2025, the MOP Foundation (Marta Ortega Pérez) in A Coruña, Spain, presents David Bailey’s Changing Fashion, the first major retrospective dedicated to David Bailey in Spain. Organized in collaboration with the photographer’s studio, the exhibition offers an immersive dive into his world through iconic and rare prints, an unreleased film, and a special publication inspired by Ritz magazine, which Bailey co-founded in the 1970s.

The show features over 140 photographs from the 1960s and 1970s, with the highlight being the cult Box of Pin-Ups series (1965), showcasing 36 portraits of icons such as Jean Shrimpton, Mick Jagger, Michael Caine, and Rudolf Nureyev. Personal archives and objects from Bailey’s studio complete the exhibition, capturing the electric atmosphere of London’s creative scene.

Beyond glamour and celebrity, the exhibition explores how Bailey redefined fashion and portrait photography by breaking away from rigid conventions. Coming from London’s East End working class, his raw, bold vision reshaped how beauty, culture, and fame are portrayed, a legacy that still resonates today.
