CANCLINI, the Silk to Cotton Industry

The history of CANCLINI Tessile S.p.a. began more than 80 years ago, in 1925, when the company was established in the silk industry in the Côme area of France. The first change of generation took place in the 1960s. The exceptional experience gained in working with a precious and luxurious fibre such as silk, together with the tenacity and hard work typical of the true spirit of companies located in Côme, led the family to abandon the silk sector for cotton in the 1960s.

In their new collection, CANCLINI offers references in 100% silk, referring to their beginnings in the 1920s. The brand also offers mixtures of cotton and silk. PROMOSTYL has selected a trendy print inspired by Vasarely. The range of the collection also includes 100% cotton button up shirts who are high in quality with chekered patterns and a nice mix of colors.

For CANCLINI, the term Philosophy means awareness, responsibility and respect, not only in terms of the production process, but also in terms of the use of natural resources. The company has obtained the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certifications. The Global Organic Textile Standard is published by the Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification (ICEA) and defines a textile product as "organic". GOTS refers to an international standard used for the certification of natural fibres, which includes ecological and social criteria.
