ACNE STUDIOS OPENS ITS ART GALLERY IN PARIS

Through a dialogue between fashion and art, Acne Studios has created a new cultural space in the heart of Paris: Acne Paper Palais Royal, the brand's first independent gallery, located under the arcades of the Palais Royal.

The brand has transformed its former boutique into a space entirely dedicated to creativity. The gallery is not a retail venue, but a platform for exhibitions, artist talks, editorial launches, and cultural events blending visual arts, photography, and design.

The inaugural exhibition will open to the public on June 26, highlighting the work of Dutch photographer Paul Kooiker with a series of 42 portraits of students from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Kooiker combines academic aesthetics with a dramatic tension, exploring “youthful optimism in the face of uncertainty,” offering a visual experience that is both contemplative and unsettling.

Driven by the vision of creative director Jonny Johansson and the interdisciplinary spirit of Acne Paper, the gallery reflects the brand’s multifaceted identity. The space breaks away from retail conventions — with no shelves or cash registers — and is entirely focused on creative exchange. With a flexible program and a strong cultural vision, Acne Studios is making a significant move in its Parisian development, going beyond the runway and establishing a permanent cultural outpost in the French capital.
