MAISON CHÂTEAU ROUGE AND JORDAN
TRANSFORM THE FORMER TATI BARBÈS

The former Tati Barbès, rehabilitated by Youssouf Fofana of Maison Château Rouge, reopened its doors on June 29, 2024, transformed into an innovative community space in collaboration with Jordan Brand.
This iconic venue, located at 2-4 boulevard Marguerite de Rochechouart, is home to “District 23”, an ephemeral center dedicated to young people, open every week from Friday to Sunday, until August 11.

Occupying 6,000 square meters, the center houses a library, café, souvenir store and workshop space.
Sewing, dyeing, design and personalization workshops are offered, led by local designers and collectives such as Ghana’s Free the Youth.
These workshops aim to support young creatives in the development of their projects.

District 23, resonating with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, offers young people a variety of sporting activities.
One-on-one basketball tournaments will take place at Square Léon, and collaborations with Foot Locker will provide access to basketball courts and other outdoor sports spaces, as well as basketball lessons for all levels.
All events are detailed in an immersive guide available on the Nike app.

To celebrate this partnership, from July 11 onwards, the Foot Locker boutique next to the ex-Tati will be selling exclusively Jordan products. The venue will also serve as a place for participants to come and get equipped before starting their sporting activities.

In partnership with Easy Otabor of Chicago’s Anthony Gallery, District 23 will also present an art exhibition entitled “Diaspora Renaissance”, featuring contemporary works by 23 artists from the African, Asian and Latin American diasporas, including Gabriel Moses, Alvin Armstrong and Maty Biayenda.

For the past two years, this emblematic location, which serves as the headquarters of the International Youth Union, has become an ephemeral center dedicated to culture, with an exhibition space, a library, a radio station and a conference room.
This initiative was made possible by the collaboration with Jordan for the launch of the Air Jordan 2 and the ready-to-wear collection designed together, enabling the launch of the International Youth Union in 2022.

From the outset, Youssouf Fofana has aimed to make an impact on the African continent and communities in Paris, with local production supported by the Fabrique de la Goutte d’or and fabrics sourced mainly in Côte d’Ivoire, made in Mali by artisans working with tie-dye.

With District 23, Maison Château Rouge and Jordan are redefining the Parisian community and cultural landscape, offering a vibrant and inclusive space for youth, where sport, art and creativity meet in a dynamic celebration of diversity and innovation.
