An icy fusion !
When architecture meets design, the result is out of this world, and that's what Zaha Hadid has done to prove that this fusion will dress your space in a unique way.
Who is Zaha Hadid?
Zaha Hadid is best known for her architectural achievements. She was born on October 31, 1950 in Baghdad, Iraq, and died on March 31, 2016 in Miami, Florida. This Iraqi-British artist was highly renowned and her inspiration was drawn from everything that challenged traditional architectural conventions. She was associated with the deconstructivist movement, which favors the rejection of traditional conventions of symmetry and harmony.
A table that respects the architect's values...
The Liquid Glacial Table was created in 2012. Indeed, it is one of Hadid's signature works. The aim is to give an impression of movement, as if frozen water were flowing and turning to ice. The table creates an illusion of undulation.
To preserve the characteristics of the liquid, the table is made of acrylic. It respects the transparent and reflective properties of the material to achieve the desired look. What's more, light passes through the table, creating a play of light that changes according to the viewing angle.
A table AND a work of art!
Let's not forget that its aesthetic function comes very close to that of a work of art, and is one of Zaha Hadid's central characteristics. The “Liquid Glacial Table” is the result of modern manufacturing and is synonymous with innovation. Indeed, its organic, natural forms are Hadid's style, a unique style that creates her identity. This blend of deconstructivism and biomorphism (whose forms recall those of the organic world).
Inspired by the fluid movements of water and ice, the designer has succeeded in solidifying them.
An acclaimed table...
This table has been the subject of much acclaim in the design world. The use of acrylic, known for its durability, was highly appreciated. The table is available in many sizes and variations, from coffee tables to dining tables. It has been exhibited in numerous galleries and design shows around the world. The Liquid Glacial Table is part of prestigious private and public collections. It is also often commissioned for high-end interior spaces.
In conclusion...
Although released in 2012, it remains a striking example of Zaha Hadid's ability to transform architectural concepts into functional design objects, while maintaining a bold and innovative aesthetic.
