Created by Kroeusna Khaou in 2007, the MyPhilosophy brand reveals elegant and delicate looks that are perfect for big occasions. Committed to an eco-friendly approach, the designer creates 100% ethical, custom-designed pieces!
A BRAND INSPIRED BY ELSEWHERE
The story of the MyPhilosophy brand began on Kroeusna Khaou’s very first trip to Cambodia. Back in the land of her roots, the designer discovered the local culture, preserved traditional know-how, the environment and the working conditions of Cambodian workers. The Asian country would continue to inspire the designer, who set up her production workshop there in 2001.
Surrounded by a small team of experienced seamstresses, six years later she launched MyPhilosophy, an entirely ethical and environmentally friendly brand.
ETHICS AND REFINEMENT: THE PERFECT COMBINATION
From Paris to Phnom Penh, Kroeusna Khaou mixes cultures, plays with traditional Eastern codes and Western trends. Influenced by her travels, nature and wide open spaces, the designer defies the fast fashion phenomenon and makes a strong stand against this age of overconsumption.
“Taking time for yourself, identifying your desires and what makes you look beautiful, so as to consume less and better.” This is the mission that Kroeusna Khaou has set herself. Established in her Paris showroom, the designer offers a truly personalised service. From the first meeting to the finished piece through fittings and alterations, Kroeusna Khaou produces delicate designs to match our wishes. The length, volume of the sleeves, details, neckline, etc.: nothing is set in stone.
Christened “Let’s Party”, her first line is dedicated to evening gowns and occasion wear. Elegant jumpsuits, jackets covered in sequins, satin dresses and ruffle sleeves: combining chic and glamour, the looks are above all comfortable and unpretentious.
Her second line “La Mariée” is devoted to wedding dresses. With pragmatism and poetry, Kroeusna Khaou creates designs that are understated yet refined and can be easily worn time and again without tiring of them.
Taking an eco-friendly approach, the designer does not produce any fabrics and only uses leftover factory stock. Drawing on plant-based crepe, cotton, silk, lace, tulle, etc., upcycling is one of the key values of MyPhilosophy, which places ethics and CSR (corporate social responsibility) at the heart of its action. “Human beings are also at the heart of our concerns,” highlights the designer, who also works with a number of organisations and NGOs, such as Oceanoplastic, AMPA, Sourire à la vie and Les Amis d’Enercoop.
