FAIRYLAND BY TIM WALKER IN LONDON

London is hosting a major exhibition by British photographer Tim Walker titled Tim Walker’s Fairyland: Love and Legends at the National Portrait Gallery.
Presented from October 8 2026 to January 31 2027, this retrospective brings together striking images produced over five years, capturing pioneering figures from queer culture and exploring themes of community, identity and love through Walker’s distinctive dreamlike lens.
The exhibition stands out as one of the highlights of London’s cultural season, bridging fashion, portraiture and personal storytelling.

Renowned for his fantastical photography published in international magazines such as Vogue, i D and Vanity Fair, Walker offers an immersive journey into his singular visual universe, where subjects inhabit poetic and imaginary landscapes.
The works on display blend glamour, fiction and emotion, transforming each photograph into a visual fairytale that celebrates the freedom to be oneself.
The scenography of Fairyland invites visitors to surrender to the rich narrative and aesthetic depth of these photographic compositions.

Accompanying the exhibition, a publication featuring texts and contributions from cultural figures including Travis Alabanza, Russell T Davies, Shon Faye, Lisa Power and Joelle Taylor will be released, extending the dialogue between visual art and contemporary writing.
This presentation highlights the significance of Walker’s work within modern photography and his ability to transcend the boundaries between fashion, identity and collective history in one of London’s most prestigious cultural institutions.
