A fabric manufacturer for both interior design and ready-to-wear, since 1976 Tex Athenea has established itself as an expert in printed textiles, whether produced traditionally or digitally.
A leading company
Thirty years. This is the experience Tex Athenea can claim in the textile industry domain. Continually evolving, the leading digital printing firm strives to supply its clients with products at the cutting edge of the latest digital technologies, with no limits in terms of colour, size or material.
With the original development of unprecedented fabrics, weaving processes, dyeing, finishes and, of course, printing, Tex Athenea is also a plant with a comprehensive and effective vertical organisation, allowing it to deliver exceptional productivity: almost 150,000 metres of fabric leave this Spanish firm each week. Over the past few years, the company has posted an annual turnover of up to 50 million euros. Something unheard-of.
A sustainable firm
Winner of the 2019 Bishop Award for Sustainability, the company is a firm believer in sustainable development. Proof of this commitment can be seen in Athenea’s choice of a specific digital printing technique that reduces water consumption by 70%. Known as eco-stamping, this technique comes on top of the use of a boiler that converts pruning remains from the area into energy, along with a field of solar panels the size of four pitches that has reduced the plant’s carbon footprint by 30%. In short, an eco-friendly approach that has won over notable clients such as Ikea, Zara and El Corte Inglés.
