Beyond Surface Technologies, a Swiss company created in 2008, is based on innovation in textile chemistry. The company develops products that reduce the impact of chemical textile finishes on the environment by seeking to fully replace synthetic petroleum-based raw materials with renewable ones. Today's fossil fuel based anti humidity treatments have a very high chemical carbon footprint. These ingredients have a harmful impact not only on the environment but also on our bodies. This is where miDori® bioWick comes in.

MiDori® bioWick is a revolutionary bio-sourced moisture wicking finish for high performance textiles. This 100% bio-carbon finishing agent is made from vegetable seeds and micro-algae. The active ingredient is a dried microalgae biomass that has been grown in controlled, sealed, non-GMO environments. It does not use any chemicals which significantly reduces carbon footprints and water consumption. Compared to standard petroleum-based finishes, its carbon footprint is up to eight times smaller. In addition, it is highly biodegradable.

This treatment helps the fabric absorb transpiration by drawing moisture away from the skin and onto the fabric surface. When treated with miDori®, the fabric acquires a soft, smooth surface and increased comfort, providing a natural, luxurious feel to the skin. This product also improves textile performance, increasing durability and quick drying properties. This textile finish has been used by RDD on some of their knits and on several Puma sportswear products.
