As if straight out of a remastered Renoir painting, the Brock Collection label reinvents romantic style with the chicest, most luxurious twists…
An inseparable duo
Laura Vassar Brock and Kristopher Brock began working together during their studies at the renowned Parsons School of Design. As part of a personal project, Kristopher asked Laura to wear one of his own wedding dress creations. Sometimes, chance gets it exactly right. Magic was sparked and the two creators are now inseparable.
Although the duo worked separately first, they both set off in the same direction. While Laura joined Olivier Theyskens’ team at Theory, Kris perfected his tailoring skills. In 2014, the two soul mates finally came together for their own project: Brock Collection was born.
The new romantics
Far from being overly exuberant and old-fashioned, the Brock Collection label offers both bohemian and sophisticated creations. “We believe that romanticism is timeless”, say the creators. The proof is right there. For their Autumn-Winter 2018 collection, the duo revisited the innocent girl look, with a creative result that is worthy of a Jane Austen heroine. Floral jacquards, defined waistlines, basques, pussy bow collars, cascades of silk and velvet… the pieces are cleverly twisted with leather and delicate lace to create modern silhouettes with opulent detailing.
Thanks to his experience as a tailor, Kristopher naturally pays particular attention to the structuring of his clothing. The result of the couple’s work is high-quality pieces with impeccable cuts.
Sold all over the world, Brock Collection is now one of the brands to follow. Emily Ratajkowski, Natalie Portman and Rihanna have already succumbed to the unique charms of this American label. After winning the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2016, it seems that this duo’s talent is well established.
