Mectex, an Italian textile manufacturer, introduced a new collection of fabrics that promise zero ecological impact in terms of pollution. The name of this eco-friendly fabric line is T-Green and takes fashion one step further towards sustainability.
An Innovative Material
Special new generation Nylon polymer yarns are the secret to this revolution. They are used in the T-Green fabrics in order to offer highly technical characteristics, which are maintained during the garment’s use while respecting the environment. The process of self-biodegradation starts only after the garment’s natural life cycle has come to an end, which means when its user decides to throw it away.
In anaerobic conditions, such as those of waste disposal, this Nylon fibre offers a better access to bacteria facilitating the digestion of the waste material and its decomposition into re-usable organic resources of biomass and biogas. With standard Nylon’s biodegradability to only 6% after three years, Mectex’s innovative Nylon fibre is far more eco-friendly with 76,5% for the same period of time.
Performance Fabrics For Every User
The T-Green fabric collection comes in stretch or non-stretch form. Non-stretch fabrics are totally made with the innovative biodegradable Nylon fibre while for the stretch fabrics another non-ecotoxic elastic fibre is added which doesn’t affect the biodegradability of the fabric.
Further to the eco-responsible development of fabrics, Mectex offers 100% fluorine-free water repellent treatment and water-based waterproof coating. Since 1960, Mectex is devoted in producing high quality fabrics with respect to the society and the environment and T-Green fabric line is the latest development to prove this devotion.
