Patricia Bustos’ Wonder galaxy: part return to childhood, part futuristic avant-garde design

For the 54th Casa Decor, which is held every year in Madrid, some sixty artists were invited to design a space to display all the riches of their creative world. Patricia Bustos presented “Wonder galaxy”, which especially stood out for its highly Instagrammable décor, on the borderline between a fanciful childlike dream and a futuristic world.

Pierre Yovanovitch’s colourful shop for the Villa Noailles

Hyères is better known for its fashion and photo festival bringing together the most high-profile professionals of the day, rather than the Design Parade celebrating architecture and design. In addition to exhibitions showcasing contemporary design, each year the festival invites an architect to redesign the Villa Noailles shop. For 2019, it is Pierre Yovanovitch, the former chair of the festival jury, who has designed a highly colourful space inspired by Robert Mallet-Stevens’ work and the Villa Noailles’ architecture

An immersive and futuristic shop for Durasafe in Singapore airport

Aesop opens a new all-brick store in Brooklyn

The must-have cosmetics brand Aesop has just opened a new store at the heart of Brooklyn, New York, called “Aesop Park Slope”. Known for its high-quality products and easily identifiable minimalist packaging, Aesop is also famous for its retail outlets with ever more incredible designs, created in collaboration with architects. For this store, the brand turned to Frida Escobedo, who designed a brick decor using rammed earth from her country of origin, Mexico.

The design of the SND store in China: a blend of futurism and pragmatism

The complex relationship between the body and space in a given environment was the guiding thread of the tremendous thinking by the architecture studio that designed the SND store concept. Torafu Architects designs a Freitag store that resembles a kiosk

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Freitag chose the studio Torafu Architects to design its new store in Osaka, Japan. In a unique style reminiscent of a kiosk, the Freitag store combines an industrial look with coloured accents thanks to the many bags on display. Freitag, which manufactures practical bags made from recycled materials such as old lorry tarpaulins, bicycle inner tubes or seat belts, has acquired a space that reflects its image, right at the heart of Japan.
